Students may take advantage of many opportunities for performance or research.
The Randolph College Department of Music offers four ensembles (two vocal, two instrumental): Chorale, Touch of Harmony, Chamber Orchestra, and Ensemble.
Visit the Ensembles page for more information…
Randolph also offers group and individual voice instruction, and individual lessons in a variety of other instruments, including piano, organ, strings, winds, brass, guitar, and drumset.
Lynchburg offers many other performing experiences, including those with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, Opera on the James, and the Jefferson Choral Society. Music students also perform with other area schools and local church choirs.
The Guest Artist Series brings musicians from around the country to teach and perform at Randolph College. While in residence, guest artists perform a recital and interact with students through rehearsals, master classes, and individual lessons.
During the fall semester, music majors explore bibliography, research techniques, and musical analysis in the senior seminar. Music majors have the option of pursuing a senior paper or a senior recital in the spring semester.
Many Randolph College music students participate in summer research projects, internships, or study abroad programs.
