Financial Aid Forms

After you have applied for financial aid, you may receive an e-mail from the Office of Financial Aid at Randolph College requesting that you submit one or more additional items. You can identify the items you are required to complete by reviewing the directions in the e-mail sent.

When to Complete the Forms
We recommend completing all requested items immediately after you receive the request from the Office of Financial Aid at Randolph College. If you delay or fail to submit the requested items/form(s), some or all of your financial aid award may be delayed.

Accept Your Financial Aid Award

You will receive an award notification at your Randolph College e-mail address. It is very important that you check your Randolph College e-mail address on a routine basis as this will be the primary method used to contact you.​

  • This must be completed in order for your financial aid to be disbursed and applied to your student account.

Student Loan Documents

If you apply for financial aid, you may be offered loans as part of your financial aid award. A loan is money you borrow and must pay back with interest. These items are only required if you plan to take out federal student loans.

Note: Do NOT submit prior to May 1

  • Entrance Counseling 
    • Entrance counseling ensures you understand the terms and conditions of your loan and your rights and responsibilities. You’ll learn what a loan is, how interest works, your options for repayment, and how to avoid delinquency and default.

  • Subsidized/Unsubsidized Master Promissory Note (MPN)
    • For Undergraduate Students
    • The Master Promissory Note (MPN) is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. It also explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s).

  • PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN)
    • For Parents (Parent PLUS Loan)
      • You may receive more than one loan under an MPN over a period of up to 10 years to pay for your child’s educational costs, as long as the school is authorized to use the MPN in this way and chooses to do so.
      • Your child’s school will tell you which loans, if any, you are eligible to receive.
      • Parents must be logged in with their own account username and password (FSA ID) to submit.

      • Graduate/professional students may be eligible for both Direct Unsubsidized Loans and Direct PLUS Loans, which have different MPNs.

State Grants (Virginia Residents)

All applications should be submitted to the Office of Financial Aid via one of the methods listed below.

  • Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) Application
    • For Virginia residents who attend accredited private, nonprofit colleges and universities in Virginia (such as Randolph College) for other than religious training or theological education.

  • Virginia Two-Year College Transfer Grant Program
    • For students to first complete an associate degree at a Virginia public two-year college before transferring to a participating Virginia four-year college or university (such as Randolph College) as a means to reduce the overall cost towards completing a bachelor’s degree.

  • Tuition Equity Provision Grant Program
    • For students without a social security number (SSN), but is a resident of Virginia. Student cannot be considered an international student on a valid F, H3, J, or M visa.
    • Must also complete a Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) Application.

Professional Judgment

What is a Professional Judgment?

A financial aid professional may exercise professional judgment and change elements in the federal need analysis to account for circumstances that he/she/they feels have not been adequately considered in the original FAFSA. In addition, a financial aid professional may increase the “Cost of Attendance” to account for extraordinary expenses a student might acquire while attending the College.

If you feel you have a special circumstance that requires additional review, you can complete the Professional Judgment Request Form (below) and submit to the Office of Financial Aid via one of the methods listed below.
