There are other summer programs available to help students improve their language skills and knowledge of Chinese culture. Randolph students have studied in Princeton University’s summer Chinese program in Beijing. They have also taught English as a second language and worked as summer camp counselors in China. The program faculty works closely with students to find summer programs that will help them master language skills more quickly.
On campus, the Chinese Culture Club hosts many activities, such as holiday celebrations and tai chi practice. Each student has a weekly conversation session with trained, native Chinese tutors, so they can perfect their conversation skills. Additional tutoring is also available.
Once a week, Chinese students and faculty eat lunch together in the cafeteria at the Chinese Table and practice speaking Chinese. Students also may participate in Chinese language research with faculty and present their research at conferences.
