All students in the SUPER program are expected to maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain in the program. Membership in the program, including eligibility for the scholarship, will be evaluated each academic year. No students will be removed from the program or returned to the program in the middle of an academic year. In addition, students will earn a certificate each year for successfully meeting all of the requirements of the program.
If a student’s GPA is below a 3.0 in any semester, the student will be required to see a subject-matter tutor in the following semester for 1 hour per week for each subject area in which the student received a C+ or below. Any student who has a semester GPA below 3.0 in both the fall and spring semesters in any given year will be placed on probation for the following year. During probation, the student will be required to meet with a subject-matter tutor for 2 hours per week for each subject area in which the student received a C+ or below. A student will be removed from probation after any semester in which they earn a 3.0 or above. If a student on probation does not earn a 3.0 either semester during the probationary year, the student will be dismissed from the program for the following year, including the loss of any associated scholarship. If the student earns an average GPA of 3.0 during the year in which the student is dismissed, the student can be readmitted to the program the following year, including reinstatement of any associated scholarship.
