Schools Show

We offer a special showing of the Greek Play each year. We have had thousands of visitors from schools all over Virginia since 2000.

Randolph College will host two special performances of The Frogs for schools: on October 5 at 9:30 a.m, and on October 6 at 9:30 a.m., when the director and the cast will be available after the show to answer questions, explain the costumes and the masks to students, and discuss the songs and dances.

The 2016 Greek Play is typical of Greek Old Comedy: it’s full of scatological humor, not-very-subtle innuendo, and name-calling. There is slapstick violence but no nudity and no sex. The language of our translation would probably be rated PG-13 at the movies. Although we believe that the experience is enriching for all ages, we understand that some might be concerned about the appropriateness of this year’s play for students younger than eighth grade.  If you choose not to attend, we’ll look forward to seeing you in 2018 for our next tragedy.

If you’re a school that has misplaced information for attending, please email acohen@randolphcollege.edu or call 434-947-8117.
