The following email message was sent to all Randolph College faculty, staff, and students on January 4, 2022. Visit www.randolphcollege.edu/covid19 for more information about Randolph’s actions and responses to COVID-19 pandemic.
Dear Randolph community members,
Throughout the pandemic, the College’s policies have followed the recommendations of the CDC and Virginia Department of Health. Just recently both of these organizations have issued new guidance about isolation and quarantine for individuals who test positive for COVID-19.
After careful deliberation, the Task Force has decided to change our policies to better reflect this new guidance.
We are implementing the five day period suggested for quarantine and isolation; however, we are requiring that a negative test result before return. This makes our policy more stringent than either the CDC our VDH guidelines. We believe these new rules better reflect what we now know about the virus while continuing to protect our community.
I encourage you to read the policy closely. https://www.randolphcollege.edu/covid19/#Spring-2022-Policy-Update-Isolation-and-Quarantine-for-COVID-19
COVID-19 and the science around it continues to change rapidly, keeping all of us on our toes with the need to be flexible and diligent. All of us on the Task Force appreciate each member of our community and your efforts to keep our school family safe and healthy. These actions will be just as important in the coming semester as they were in the fall.
I look forward to seeing all of you together on campus soon.
