Message from the President Regarding Remote Work During January 2022

The following email message was sent to all Randolph College staff on January 7, 2022. Visit www.randolphcollege.edu/covid19 for more information about Randolph’s actions and responses to COVID-19 pandemic.

Dear Randolph staff,

In my email earlier in the week, I promised to provide updates regarding our remote work decision. Unfortunately, COVID-19 cases in our area continue to surge, and we want to do everything possible to keep our community safe and healthy. You may have already received an email from me about some recent decisions made by the Task Force. We have delayed the opening of the academic year until Jan. 31, and we are requiring students to receive their booster shots if they are eligible and do not have a medical or religious exemption.

We have also decided to continue allowing employees that are able to work remotely to do so until Jan. 31 when students arrive. The less people we have together on campus right now, the more we are able to limit the spread of this very contagious variant of COVID-19. Should you have questions, please contact your supervisor or the human resources office. I also encourage each of you to receive your vaccine and booster if you are eligible. The more we can do to limit the spread of the virus, the safer our community will be for all of us.

Thank you again for everything each of you does for the community. I know it has been a tough week.

Sincerely,
Brad Bateman
