Message from the President Regarding COVID-19 Testing

The following email message was sent to all Randolph College students, faculty, and staff on October 11, 2021. Visit www.randolphcollege.edu/covid19 for more information about Randolph’s actions and responses to COVID-19 pandemic.

Dear Randolph community members,

Congratulations on making it to fall break! I would like to thank each member of our community for their diligence and hard work the past weeks. Because of your combined efforts, we have been able to keep our community safe, healthy, and in-person.

As you know, fall break begins October 13. While we have been successful in our COVID-19 mitigation efforts so far this semester, we still have many weeks to go. During the break, I encourage you to continue those safe practices, especially if you will be traveling to any COVID-19 hotspots.

Because so many in our community will be leaving campus, we have decided to require COVID-19 testing when classes resume. On Oct. 21, ALL members of our campus community, including students, faculty, and staff, will be required to be tested on campus. This mandatory testing includes vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals.

Please see this important information about the testing.

  • The testing will be conducted by the Virginia Department of Health.
  • Testing will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in Smith Hall Theatre.
  • The test will be a PCR test, but will be a nasal swab, which means it is more comfortable and not as invasive as the previous testing done on campus last year.
  • The lab will notify anyone with a positive result.

Important Information:

  • You MUST print and bring the form located here to the testing site.
  • Fill in all demographics info to the best of your ability
  • Do NOT change any of the prefilled information (date, test type, payment type, etc)
  • When complete, CLICK CREATE EREQ at the bottom of the screen
  • Please PRINT out the EREQ and BRING THE PAPER FORM IN TO THE TESTING EVENT!! (forms just on a phone will cause delays at registration!).

Thank you again for your cooperation as we work to keep our community safe and healthy.

Sincerely,
Brad Bateman
