This summer, biology major Kati Biggs ’18 set course for the coast of New Hampshire and an internship at the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation.

As part of the experience, she goes whale watching four times a week and assists with the organization’s educational outreach programs. She has also participated in multiple beach cleanups in the Portsmouth, New Hampshire community as part of the internship.

“I loved working for a non-profit and collecting data and talking to people,” Biggs said. “This made me feel like I was making some kind of difference, even if it was just a small impact.”
