Under the direction of Glenn Leslie, director of Classic Jazz and Tap Productions, Dudley spent two years recreating and restoring Hollywood dance choreography from classic films. The project culminated with the concert performances at Dance Center Evanston in Evanston, Illinois, which were accompanied by live jazz music performed by The Jeremy Kahn Trio.
Dudley performed in four of the 18 dances in the concert: “Dancin’ in the Dark,” from The Bandwagon (1953); “Begin the Beguine,” from Broadway Melody (1940); “Put Me to the Test,” from A Damsel in Distress (1937); and “The Shorty George,” from You Were Never Lovelier (1942).
