Amy R. Cohen’s paper “Doubling in Practice and Pedagogy” was given honorable mention as best paper at the annual meeting of the Society for Classical Studies, the professional organization of scholars of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds.
The presentation dealt with the advantages of using the three-actor rule when producing or teaching about Greek drama. Cohen demonstrated some of the effects of actors playing more than one role by showing video from the 2010 Randolph College Greek Play, in which Laura Shearer ’12, played four roles in Euripides’ Hecuba.
Cohen is Professor of Classics and Director of the Center for Ancient Drama.
