Gianna Cabrera-Castillo ’25 arrived at Randolph planning to major in business, but her path shifted after taking an international relations class.
“As I took more courses in political science, I realized that I really wanted to be someone who will help fight and advocate for those that need it the most in our world,” she said.
Cabrera-Castillo, who majored in political science, has accepted a job at a circuit court in Portsmouth, where she’ll work in the civil department, attending court hearings and supervising jury orientation.
She interned with the same court last summer.
“I dreamed of going to law school growing up and always had an interest in legal systems and justice,” she said. “Since I decided not to go to law school, this job allows me to do the things I’ve always wanted to do.”
During her time at Randolph, Cabrera-Castillo served on the College’s judiciary committee, as a Student Government senior senator, president of the Latinx Familia Association, and chair of the Campus Life Committee.
“Randolph has exposed me to so many different opportunities, blessings, friends, and now family that I will forever be grateful for,” she said. “Because of the great community that we have here, I was able to explore myself and my dreams, and now I am set to achieve them.”
