John Abell, the Carl Stern Chair of Economics at Randolph, recently wrote an op-ed for The News & Advance, reflecting on how the pandemic affected Lynchburg’s economy.
In the piece, titled “Lynchburg’s economy was beginning to really take off in 2019. Then 2020 happened,” Abell writes about improvements in Lynchburg’s poverty rate and the work that still needs to be done in regards to income inequality.
