A message to the Randolph College family from President Bateman

During the last week, we have once again witnessed the reality of racial injustice in American society. George Floyd’s brutal murder is tragic, but sadly, not surprising.

At Randolph College, we stand against racial discrimination, racial injustice, and against racial violence. We strive to be an inclusive community; and we educate our students to recognize injustices in society and prepare them to address those injustices as citizens with powerful voices. In the face of the ongoing racial violence, the fight can feel tenuous and fragile, but never has it been more important.

We stand with our Black and African-American students, who are especially affected by what is happening, and offer our support to them. These are not easy times, but we must stand together for racial equality. Our task remains to build a better world both inside and outside the Red Brick Wall.
