Society of Physics Students holds workshop for Girl Scouts

The Department of Physics & Engineering, along with eight members of the Society of Physics Students (Shae Taylor ’22, Jude Quintero ’20, Mikayla Jenkins ’23, Agnes Reyes Merced ’21, Hailey Gilman ’21, Paige Edwards ’21, Nicholas Vazquez ’20, Brandon Michael Kaiser ’21) hosted four cadette Girl Scout troops on Saturday, February 1, for a workshop on coding and robotics.

The group learned coding in the morning, had lunch on campus, and worked on robotics in the afternoon, earning a total of six badges.

The workshop centered on teaching the girls to code the Arduino microcomputer and add sensors and articulation to make it into a robot.
