Randolph’s dance department will present the annual Fall Dance Concert this weekend, showcasing student choreography and creativity. Performances are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1, and Saturday, November 2.

The theme for this year’s concert is “Visual Alchemy,” and all pieces in the show are conceptualized and choreographed by student dancers.

“All the dances are student-choreographed, so each of us handled the choreography for the show as well as the scheduling, picking the music and costumes, selling tickets—basically the entire concert except for running the lighting and the sound,” said Samantha Landers ’21. “Each piece has a specific story or inspiration behind it, and we’ve encouraged each other to kind of feel and dance through it.”

Emma Koziol ’21 added that this will be one of the shorter shows the dancers have performed, with a run time of about 30-40 minutes.

“It makes for a nice study break where other students can come out and get a taste of dance, especially if this is their first time seeing something in this genre,” Koziol said. “There’s a good mix of serious, funny, and happy pieces, so it’s got a little something for everyone.”

Tickets are now available online at https://www.randolphcollege.edu/tickets/. Cost is $5 for general admission and free for Randolph students.
