This summer, Liz Beairsto ’20 was a community outreach intern with Clean Water Action’s national office in Washington, D.C.
In her role, Beairsto worked alongside Clean Water Action’s members and professional staff to educate the public about environmental protection and its correlation to quality of life.
“I was only with Clean Water for a short but sweet four weeks, but learned a lot and made a lasting impact,” Beairsto said. “Through educating and empowering people to make a difference in decisions affecting their lives, I was successful in fundraising $4,500, talked to over 400 constituents, and brought in 300-plus members to join the nation’s largest, most effective grassroots organization active on water, energy, and environmental health issues.”
Beairsto is an economics and political science major at Randolph.
