Several summer athletic camps are underway this week at Randolph College, and registration remains open for spots in the other camps scheduled later in the summer. Camps are available for ages ranging from elementary school to high school.
“Randolph College looks forward to once again sharing our passion for athletics and good sportsmanship with the greater Lynchburg community this summer,” said Tina Hill, director of athletics. “What makes Randolph’s camps unique is the lasting mentorships and friendships our coaches and student-athletes form with each camper.”

Randolph College Basketball Day Camp
July 11-15, open to girls ages 6-14
Times: 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday-Thursday (lunch included); 9 a.m.-noon Friday
Cost: $150 ($25 discount for children of Randolph employees or children of alumnae and alumni)
Description: A camp for all skill levels, the Randolph College Girls Basketball Day Camp will teach participants the fundamentals of basketball and includes a variety of activities and games, including basketball competitions and swimming.

Randolph College Skill Builder Hoop Camp
Aug. 1-5, open to boys and girls ages 5-14
Times: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Cost: $150 ($25 discount for a second child, the child of a Randolph employee, or the child of an alumna or alumnus (limit of one discount per camper))
Description: A camp for all skill levels, the Randolph College Skill Builder Hoop Camp features workshops, contests, lessons, games, and choice time, with lunch provided.

Pony Camp
June 20-24 (session one), July 11-15 (session two), and Aug. 8-12 (session three) open to ages 6-12
Times: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Cost: $325
Location: Randolph College Riding Center
Description: Pony Camp teaches participants about breeds, feeding, shoeing, basic care, riding, bathing, clipping, and grooming horses. There will be a horse show on the final day of each session.

Summer Riding Camp
July 18-21 (session one) and Aug. 1-4 (session two), open to ages 13-18
Times: 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Cost: $600
Location: Randolph College Riding Center
Description: Randolph’s Summer Riding Camp offers two, hour-long mounted lessons daily in addition to numerous equine and craft activities. Lessons are taught by Randolph College riding instructors. Riders should be capable of walk-trot and cantering on their own, independent of a lunge line, before joining.

Randolph Lacrosse U19 Evening Camp
July 5-6, open to boys in U19 age groups
Times: 7-9 p.m.

Description: The Randolph Lacrosse U19 Evening Camp is open to lacrosse players of all skill levels and focuses on both team and individual instruction. Players will learn about fitness, stick work, equipment, and more.

Randolph College Tennis Camp
June 20-24 (Junior WildCats Camp – boys and girls ages 6-12) and June 27-July 1 (High School WildCats Camp – boys and girls ages 13-18)
Times: 9 a.m.-noon (Junior WildCats Camp); 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (High School WildCats Camp)
Cost: $120 for Junior WildCats Camp and $170 for High School WildCats Camp ($50 non-refundable deposit required for both camps); 10 percent discount for children of Randolph employees and children of alumnae and alumni
Description: All skill and experience levels are welcome. Instruction by Randolph head tennis coach Jamie Megginson, along with Randolph players and assistant coaches.

WildCats Track and Field Overnight Camp
July 18-22, open to high school boys and girls
Cost: $400 for residential participants and $200 for commuters
Description: Campers will work with coaches on hurdles, sprints, long and triple jump, high jump, pole vault, and shot put activities.

Basic Skills Day Camp for Beginners and Middle School Skills Camp
June 22-24, open to participant’s ages 6-14
Times: 3:30–5:30 p.m.
Cost: $100 ($15 discount for children of Randolph College employees and children of alumnae and alumni)
Description: The Basic Skills Day Camp for Beginners is for children who are eager to learn the basic skills and technique of volleyball. It includes three fun, two-hour sessions that teach the basic skills of passing, setting, hitting and serving. The Middle School Skills Camp includes skill-building and team-building activities as well as positional training in passing, setting, hitting, and serving.

Overnight Advanced Skills Camp
July 18-21, open to participants in grades 9-12 who have completed in at least two seasons of volleyball (high school or club volleyball)
Cost: $350 for residential campers and $300 for commuters ($25 discount for children of Randolph employees and children of alumnae and alumni)
Description: This four-day, three-night camp will immerse participants in volleyball skill building with Randolph coaches and players, and they will experience collegiate level position training and team drills.
