Job Overview:

The Randolph College Athletics Department is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic students to join our Sports Information team for home athletic events. This position offers hands-on experience in sports media and game-day operations, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in sports communication, broadcasting, media production, or event management.

Responsibilities:

GAME DAY OPERATIONS

Student Sports Information Assistants who only want to do game day operations will be assigned one or more of the following roles on game days

  • Statistics Inputter: Assist in recording live stats using NCAA-approved software (Presto/NCAA LiveStats).
  • Scoreboard Operator: Manage the game clock and scoreboard during contests.
  • Live Stream Camera Operator: Capture game footage for our live broadcasts.
  • Spotter: Assist the commentator and stats crew by tracking plays and player participation.
  • Shot Clock Operator: Manage the shot clock during basketball games and lacrosse games
  • Public Address Announcer: Provide live commentary, player introductions, and in-game announcements.
  • Broadcast/Live Stream Commentator: Provide live on-stream commentary, play-by-play, and other necessary information.

*Other positions not listed vary depending on the sport. Training will be conducted for every position*

 

WILDCATS CREATIVE TEAM

Number of positions available: 7

The WildCats Creative Team is a student-led content creation squad under the Sports Information office for Randolph College Athletics. This team will play a key role in building and enhancing the WildCats’ digital presence. Through storytelling, visuals, and in-game coverage, the Creative Team will produce engaging content across our social media platforms.

We’re looking for passionate, creative, and driven students interested in media, sports media, digital storytelling, and behind-the-scenes production. No prior experience is required, some knowledge and interest in sports is helpful, and willingness to learn.

  • Photographers: Take high-quality action and atmosphere photos for promotional use. Having your own camera is a plus but not required. Basic knowledge of photography and editing.
  • Videographers: Film/Edit game-day footage, hype videos, interviews, and short-form content for social media. Having your own camera is a plus but not required. Experience with video/mobile filming, Adobe Premiere or CapCut, or other video editing software
  • Social Media Assistant: Work alongside sports information in creating content for our social media platforms. Help manage live coverage during games, brainstorm content ideas, schedule posts, and monitor social media trends. Familiarity with Instagram, X (Twitter), Canva, good communication skills
  • Graphic Designer: Design eye-catching graphics for game days, results, player features, and promotional campaigns. Will collaborate with the SID office to maintain brand consistency. Familiarity with Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools. Attention to detail is key
  • Sideline Reporter: Conduct on-camera interviews with players and coaches pre-/post-game. Create short video hits and work alongside the broadcast/live stream commentator in developing storylines for highlight segments. Comfortable on camera, strong communication skills, journalism or communication interest.

 

Qualifications:

  • Interest in sports and game-day operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different roles as needed.
  • Experience in media production, photography, videography, or sports stats is a plus (but not required).

 

Work Environment:

  • Employees will be located on the field or in the press box for outdoor sports or in the gym for indoor sports.

Pay: $12.41/Hour

Hours: Games typically take place on weeknights/ weekday afternoons or Saturday afternoons. Hours are flexible around your schedule.

Length of Employment: Sept 2025 to May 2026

You will also be required to complete FERPA training (online) and work and confidentiality agreements. You will not be able to begin work or get paid before you complete these items. See the Human Resources Office, located in Main Hall for more information on the required documentation. The HR office is located in Main Hall and is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 pm
