After graduating from the College, Naomi earned her Ph.D. in integrative biology at the University of California, Berkeley. While there, she received Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, which awards unrestricted funding to talented scholars, along with a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, and an American Association of University Women American Fellowship.
Before starting her consultant work, she served as senior researcher and policy advisor for the Learning Policy Institute (LPI) and worked as a behavioral neuroscientist, studying social bonding and honing her investigative research skills. She also served in the California state legislature, where she reviewed, analyzed, amended, and drafted education-related legislation.
At LPI, Naomi worked to advance evidence-based policies that support empowering and equitable learning for children.
