Randolph College recently announced the promotion of Travis Carter to vice president for enrollment management.
Carter, who currently serves as dean of admission and financial aid, has led Randolph’s Office of Admission since 2019.
“Since joining Randolph, Travis has been an essential member of the President’s Leadership Team,” said Sue Ott Rowlands, president. “This promotion reflects not only his outstanding leadership and the success of his team but also aligns Randolph with best practices at peer institutions by elevating enrollment management to the vice president level.”
Under his guidance, Randolph has experienced remarkable enrollment growth, she added. First-year enrollment has more than doubled in the past five years alone.
“This momentum is a direct result of the dedication of Travis and the entire enrollment team, as well as the collaboration and support of departments across campus working together to create an exceptional student experience,” Ott Rowlands added.
The growth is driven by several of Randolph’s strategic initiatives, including the innovative TAKE2 curriculum, the introduction of new academic and athletic programs, and intentional enrollment and marketing strategies.
Carter holds a bachelor’s degree from Roanoke College and recently completed a Master of Fine Arts in Design Thinking from Radford University. Before joining Randolph, he served in leadership roles in admissions at both Radford University and Roanoke College.
