Registration is now open for preschool, theatre, art, coding, and soccer summer camps at Randolph College.
The Maier Museum of Art at Randolph College is holding an Art Explorers camp this summer from July 29-Aug. 2 for rising fourth through eighth graders. Campers will spend mornings in the museum galleries and afternoons in the art studio exploring new mediums, including air-dry clay, watercolor, mixed-media fabric collage, and printmaking. The Randolph College Nursery School will host a series of weeklong summer camps from June 10-Aug. 2 for children ages 3 through 6. Each week offers a different theme, with topics ranging from A Day at the Beach to A Bug’s Life to Goin’ to the Zoo. TC3 Kids Camp, also known as Tech Cats Summer Coding Day Camp, is an introduction to computer programming, computer science, and robotics for rising 3rd through 8th grade students. The three weeklong sessions take place June 10-14, June 24-28, and July 29-Aug. 2, focusing on Python coding, Minecraft Modding, Roblox Game Building, robotics, and more. Camp runs daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday, with a showcase each Friday night. No experience with computer programming or computer science is necessary. Embark! Youth Theatre Conservatory, held at Randolph College and hosted by the College’s theatre-in-residence, Endstation Theatre Company, will run July 8-19. The program gives 3rd through 12th grade students the opportunity to hone their acting skills under the direction of theatre professionals from the region and nation. Students of similar ages and/or experience are grouped into three different levels that rotate among six unique classes, and advanced training is now offered for high school students. The program culminates in a showcase presentation and awards ceremony. Partial and full scholarships are available. The Randolph College men’s and women’s soccer teams are hosting a Youth Soccer Camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 14 from June 10-13. Camp will focus on dribbling, passing and receiving, shooting and finishing, and games for various age levels, with instruction from men’s and women’s soccer coaches and players.
