Randolph College went online for its sixth annual Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1. During the daylong event, the College received nearly 850 Annual Fund gifts totaling over $260,000 and counting.
All Annual Fund gifts given to Randolph on Dec. 1 counted toward the Giving Tuesday gift tally, which included challenges and matches from alumnae totaling more than $50,000, as well as the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.
Donors were able to direct their gifts to specific programs and needs, including campus COVID safety, scholarships, diversity and inclusion, RISE grants, technology, faculty support, first-generation college students, and campus sustainability and beautification.
The classes with the most donors were 1984, 1964, and 1978, and gifts came from as far away as China, Canada, the U.K., and Nepal.
Virtual events throughout the day included a series of Q&As with Randolph President Bradley Bateman when gift totals hit 250, 500, and 750; a musical performance by psychology professor Sara Beck; and a holiday lighting ceremony. Other posts and special events from the day can be found on the Randolph Memories Facebook page.
