A message from President Bateman regarding Title IX

The following message was sent on Sept. 8.

Dear Randolph College community,

When I wrote to the Randolph community last month about the campus climate around sexual assault and consent, I reiterated the College’s commitment to making improvements, enacting change, and ensuring our campus community is one where students always feel safe and respected. Since that time, we have been diligently working on several projects related to our Title IX program. Today, I’m pleased to share with you our new Title IX website. You can find the updated site here.

The website makes clear our commitment to promoting a culture of respect on our campus. The site explains the work we are doing and our responsibilities to people who report being the victims of sexual assault. Not only have we added important new information and resources, we have worked to make the site more user-friendly. As with all websites, it is not a finished product. We will continue to update the site regularly, especially as we improve our programming and training. We welcome your feedback on additional ways we can improve the site. You may share them here.

I hope to make more announcements later this week (or early next week) about additional efforts I have committed us to undertake. I would like to take this moment to thank everyone who has reached out to us during this process. We appreciate your stories, feedback, and suggestions, and I look forward to working together to make a difference in our community.

Bradley W. Bateman

President
