Randolph College announced the appointment of Robert P. Kenny as the vice president for finance and administration on Friday. Kenny comes to Randolph after serving a three-year term as president after serving a year as interim president for Goddard College in Plainfield, VT.
Before his appointment at Goddard, Kenny served as vice president for finance and administration at Georgian Court University. There, he stewarded the institution through Hurricane Sandy and Nor-ester Athena activities; helped to complete then implement the Institutional Strategic Plan; and pushed forward four capital project proposals that brought in $8.4 million in state funds to the university.
“Bob’s passion is finance and administration, and he brings more than 20 years of higher education experience,” President Bradley W. Bateman said. “We are excited to have someone with his experience and talents join our senior administration.”
Before moving to Georgian Court, Kenny served at Goddard as acting president in 2010, executive vice president and vice president for finance and administration from 2008-11.
He also spent 31 years at Saint Michael’s College, where he held faculty and then numerous leadership positions, including interim vice president for academic affairs, interim vice president for finance and administration, and chair of the Department of Business Administration & Accounting.
While a faculty member Kenny’s research and consulting was focused on personal and organizational financial planning and taxation. A Certified Public Accountant, Kenny earned a B.A. in mathematics, B.S. in business administration, and an M.B.A. from the University of Vermont.
He will succeed Jim Manaro, who is retiring June 30. Kenny will begin at Randolph on August 1.
