Randolph has once again been named a “College of Distinction” for its educational value, engagement, community, and outcomes.
Each year, the Colleges of Distinction organization features colleges and universities like Randolph as part of its mission “to honor and recognize those institutions that are so essential to educating the next generation of young adults.” To be designated a “College of Distinction,” a school’s curriculum must emphasize such core competencies as critical thinking, writing, oral skills, research, and global perspectives. They must also offer dynamic out-of-classroom learning and study abroad programs.
“Our team at Colleges of Distinction is happy that we get to work with such amazing institutions,” said Wes Creel, founder of Colleges of Distinction. “Broadcasting the virtues of a teaching-centered education is our mission, and we are glad to have Randolph College as a partner along the way.”
The 2017-18 Colleges of Distinction guidebook, which includes a profile on Randolph, will be published in September. The publication will be provided to high school counselors, who will be able to share free digital copies with prospective college students and their parents.
