The Randolph College administration strives to be as helpful as possible to faculty and staff members in their efforts to find sources of outside funding for research, creative endeavors, and programmatic purposes. Such funding is critical to the cultural and intellectual life of the College community, facilitating innovative teaching and scholarship while promoting external recognition.
Advance planning is often one of the most challenging aspects of grant applications. Almost all grant programs have deadlines. Some applications must be filed a year prior to the start of the fellowship or grant. Faculty are encouraged to begin investigating potential sources of funding well in advance of expected deadlines.
All proposals involving funds to be routed through Randolph College must be submitted through the Office of Sponsored Programs or the Office of Institutional Advancement. The Funding Request Form is used to determine which of these two offices can better assist with prospect research and proposal submission.
The Funding Request Form is required for the following:
- When the faculty or staff member plans to apply for a grant from a specific funding agency
- When the faculty or staff member needs assistance finding a funding source
Once submitted, the Funding Request Form is routed to the Sponsored Programs Officer, who shares it with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. When appropriate, the request is discussed with staff of the Office of Institutional Advancement and the President of the College.
