PHILIP THAYER MEMORIAL LECTURE: Thompson M. Mayes "Why We Love Old Places" Mr. Mayes, the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, will speak on the value of historic preservation. In addition to his 30 years of service with the National Trust, he is a lecturer and author of the book Why Old Places Matter. In 2013 Mr. Mayes was awarded the National Endowment for the Arts Rome Prize in Historic Preservation. Date: November 11. 2021, at 6 PM Wimberly Recital Hall in Presser Hall This event is free and open to the public.
