Fran Wilde's novels and short stories have been finalists for four Nebula Awards, a World Fantasy Award, and two Hugo Awards, and include her Nebula- and Compton-Crook-winning debut novel Updraft, its sequels Cloudbound, and Horizon, her 2019 debut Middle Grade novel Riverland, and the Nebula-, Hugo-, and Locus-nominated novelette The Jewel and Her Lapidary. Her short stories appear in Asimov's, Tor.com, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Shimmer, Nature, and the 2017 Year's Best Dark Fantasy and Horror. She writes for publications including The Washington Post, Tor.com, Clarkesworld, iO9.com, and GeekMom.com. Her first poetry collection, Clock Star Rose Spine, was released this August by Lanternfish Press.
Lesley Wheeler's fifth poetry collection, The State She's In, appeared in 2020 from Tinderbox Editions. Her debut novel, Unbecoming, was recently published by Aqueduct Press. Tinderbox will also publish her essay collection, Poetry's Possible Worlds, in 2021. Her 2010 poetry collection Heterotopia was a finalist for the Library of Virginia Award. The Receptionist (2012) was named to the Tiptree Award Honor List, now the Otherwise Award, and nominated by Ms. Mentor at The Chronicle of Higher Education for an Ackie. Her poems and essays appear in Kenyon Review, American Poetry Review, Gettysburg Review, Ecotone, Massachusetts Review, and many other journals. Wheeler is the Henry S. Fox Professor of English at Washington and Lee University and the poetry editor for Shenandoah.
