Monday Meditation in the Maier Gallery Mondays from 5:15 to 6:30 pm (plan to arrive between 5:00 – 5:15 pm) Surrounded by art, the group offers an introduction to mindfulness meditation based on Buddhist teachings. Participants practice sitting meditation, mindful movement, and other methods helpful in bringing awareness to daily life. Unapologetic Pop Up Drop by between 2 and 4 pm to make a limited-edition button with artist Lyall Harris! Harris is one of the collaborators for The Unapologetic Initiative, an ongoing interactive project that seeks to raise awareness about gender inequality, challenge societal expectations, and empower women. On view January 11 – May 20, 2024 Hampson Commons, Student Center Exhibition: Entangled and Ingested The Entangled and Ingested project traces the ways film plastics inundate our lives, linking marine creatures to our consumption and us to their survival. Kat Owens creates life-sized portraits made from film plastic debris documenting animals harmed by entanglement and ingestion of plastic marine debris. To highlight her work and amplify the message it sends, and in celebration of Randolph's new marine science major, seven portraits from this series will be on display in Hampson Commons in the spring of 2024.
