Les Femmes du 6e Étage
by Philippe Le Guay • 2010 • 1h 42m
Comedy, with Fabrice Luchini • Sandrine Kiberlain • Natalia Verbeke
Paris, in the early 1960s. Jean-Louis Joubert is a serious but up-tight stockbroker, married to Suzanne, a starchy class-conscious woman and father of two arrogant teenage boys, currently in a boarding school. The affluent man lives a steady yet boring life. At least until, due to fortuitous circumstances, Maria, the charm-ing new maid at the service of Jean-Louis' family, makes him dis-cover the servants' quarter on the sixth floor of the luxury build-ing he owns and lives in. There live a crowd of lively Spanish maids who will help Jean-Louis to open to a new civilization and a new approach of life. In their company - and more precisely in the company of beautiful Maria - Jean-Louis will gradually be-come another man, a better man.

À Bout de Souffle
by Jean-Luc Godard • 1960• 1h 30m
Crime/Drama, with Jean-Paul Belmondo • Jean Seberg • Van Doude
Michel Poiccard, an irresponsible sociopath and small-time thief, steals a car and impulsively murders the motorcycle policeman who pursues him. Now wanted by the authorities, he renews his relationship with Patricia Franchini, a hip American girl studying journalism at the Sorbonne, whom he had met in Nice a few weeks earlier. Before leaving Paris, he plans to collect a debt from an underworld acquaintance and expects her to accompany him on his planned getaway to Italy. Even with his face in the local pa-pers and media, Poiccard seems oblivious to the dragnet that is slowly closing around him as he recklessly pursues his love of American movies and libidinous interest in the beautiful Ameri-can.
