Award-winning vocalist Katherine Jolly to perform with Randolph faculty

This Saturday evening, award-winning opera singer Katherine Jolly will perform works by Scarlatti, Debussy, Strauss, and Gordon in the Wimberly Recital Hall of Presser Hall.

Jolly is the winner of the 2006 Metropolitan Opera National Council Grand Finals, and has sung with the New York City Opera, Virginia Opera, Opera Theatre St. Louis, and the Houston Grand Opera. She has been reviewed by The New York Times and has been praised by operaworld.com for her “tender and expressive vocals.” She has also previously taught and performed at Randolph.

Accompanying Jolly will be Emily Yap Chua, Randolph music professor, on piano and David Vonderheide, principal trumpet of the Virginia Symphony, on trumpet. The Guest Artist/Faculty Recital begins at 7:30 p.m.
