Course Description

Limits, continuity, and differentiation of algebraic functions of one variable. Applications to curve sketching, optimization, and rates of change. The definite integral applied to finding the area under a curve.

Course Objectives

The student will develop an appreciation of the power of calculus to help understand the world, as well as the aesthetic of the subject itself. She will sharpen her computational and reasoning skills and develop facility with the use of a computer algebra system.
