Randolph’s campus fitness center—located in the Student Center, with both a main level and mezzanine level—received an upgrade this fall.
The main level includes a dance and aerobics center in addition to a workout area, while the mezzanine level offers more workout space and small locker room facilities.
The renovation brought in brand-new, top-of-the-line equipment—from ellipticals, treadmills, and stair climbers to weight machines and Randolph-branded dumbbells.
“We wanted to create a space where anyone can get a really effective workout,” said Dean of Students Chris Lemasters. “Even if you have no experience, you can walk in and easily use the equipment.”
The weightlifting equipment offers QR codes linking to videos on how to properly use each machine.
The dance and aerobics center was outfitted with a fan bike, rower, and ski trainer, as well as kettlebells, medicine balls, and core bags.
Funding for the upgrades was provided by Student Government and the Endeavor Foundation.
“Physical fitness is part of our bigger mission to support student mental health and overall well-being,” Lemasters said. “It’s important to provide a space like this to our community members.”
