Lucy Hooper ’73

Lucy Hooper ’73, a trustee emerita who served on the Randolph Board of Trustees from 2000-2017, including five years as president, was recently elected chair of the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB).

Hooper has served on the MSRB Board since 2014, and is currently on the Nominating and Governance Committee. She is executive vice president at Davenport & Company, LLC, where she worked as director of fixed income sales and trading since 2000. She joined the firm in 1981 and has held various fixed-income positions. Earlier in her career she was a trader and involved in fixed income sales for First and Merchant National Bank, which became Sovran Bank. From 2000 to 2008, she served as a subject matter expert on the MSRB’s Professional Qualifications Advisory Committee.

The MSRB is a Congressionally-chartered, self-regulatory organization governed by a 21-member board of directors that has a majority of public members, in addition to representatives of regulated entities.
