CLASSICS STUDENT ASSISTANT

Job Title:  Classics Student Assistant

Department: World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures

Supervisor(s): Amy Cohen, acohen@randolphcollege.edu

Essential Functions:

  • General clerical, typing, filing, etc.;
  • Flyer creation and distribution (for department events);
  • Digital editing of images and sound files (for class and research projects);
  • Organizational tasks as assigned for events.

Qualifications:

  • Typing/word-processing neatness rather than speed;
  • Accuracy of final copy;
  • Willingness to learn new skills to be able to complete tasks;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Interest in and knowledge of Classical subjects desirable but not required.

Work Environment:

  • Position typically works in an office environment. Requires standing/walking/sitting for extended periods of time.  May occasionally lift 10/15 lbs.

Pay: $12.00/Hour

Hours: 1-2 hours/week

Length of Employment: August 2023 to May 2024

If Hired: You must complete federal and state withholding documents, Form I-9 (which requires you to show proof of eligibility to work in the US), and bank direct deposit information, as well as all necessary items in our payroll system, Paycom. You will also be required to complete FERPA training (online) and work and confidentiality agreements. You will not be able to begin work or get paid before you complete these items. See the Human Resources Office, located in Main Hall for more information on the required documentation. The HR office is located in Main Hall and is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 pm.
