Diversity, Identity, Culture & Inclusion Coordinator

Randolph College has an immediate opening for a full-time Diversity, Identity, Culture & Inclusion Coordinator. The Diversity, Identity, Culture & Inclusion Coordinator (D-ICI Coordinator) leads and executes programming, education, outreach, and administrative support for student diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives at Randolph College. Supervised by the Chief Diversity Officer (COO) and Director of Identity, Culture & Inclusion (Director of ICI), this position will be a critical leader in developing strong interpersonal relationships with communities such as Black students, Latin-x students, Asian students, LGBTQIA+ students, undocumented students, international students, and first generation students while connecting them to campus resources as needed. The D-ICI Coordinator will offer direct student support by overseeing the daily administrative operations for the welcoming environment in the department. Through strategic and innovative outreach efforts, this position raises the visibility of diversity and inclusion through community spaces, programs, and resources.

Essential Job Duties

  • Create a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the Department of D-ICI and additional spaces by advising them of campus resources;
  • Align student life values and student-focused activities with the overall center and OIED strategic priorities;
  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships that honor collective and intersectional identities within and across student groups while also holding attention to coalition building;
  • Provide leadership, outreach and oversight of a student services department which fosters inclusive education and opportunities;
  • Plan and present leadership and informational programs to help all members of the college to continue discussing and exploring topics of multicultural needs


  • Oversight
    • Oversee and advise clubs who are related to and/or housed under the umbrella of the Office of D-ICI;
    • Lead and facilitate monthly meetings with students and student leaders;
    • Oversee work study students;
  • Outreach, Communication, & Resources
    • Develop and implement a marketing and communication plan that raises the visibility of diversity and inclusion spaces, programs, and resources;
    • Communicate with external partners such as campus staff and alum on particular programs in order to solicit or share required information;
    • Manage training calendar for faculty, staff, and students;
  • Programming
    • Create and manage cultural event series;
    • Work with Orientation committee to create and develop topics aligned with values of the Office of D-ICI;
  • Create and develop an Office of D-ICI admitted students day;

o   Prepare materials for events and programs/fundraising events such as name tags, agendas, and folders;

o     Plan small and large scale programming for the Office of D-ICI such as alumni/family engagement weekend, LGBTQIA+ Coming Out Week, heritage month collaborations, recognition ceremonies, and service-learning activities;

  • Manage logistics for events or meetings including participant travel, catering, accommodations, and event space;
  • Collaborate with key Student Life stakeholders such as ResLife, Campus Life, Career Development Center, Academic Services Center, Alumni Office, Admissions, and the Counseling Center;

o     In collaboration and oversight by the COO and Director of ICI, design and facilitate workshops on a variety of social justice topics

  • Other Responsibilities
    • Assist COO and Director of ICI in any administrative roles and responsibilities;
    • Create and format presentations in PowerPoint;
    • Prepare mailing and file documents;
    • Copy, scan, and shred materials;
    • Prepare application materials for campus and individual grant programs;
    • Provide participants with, and answer questions regarding, logistical program information;
    • Assist in tasks given by the CDO and Director of ICI to allow them to focus on structural issues at the institution

Qualifications include Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Humanities, Sociology, Psychology, or any other related degree. Applicants should have experience in developing and implementing programs focused on issues of diversity, difference, equity and inclusion.
