Graduate Student Practicum/Internship

Master’s level practicum (10 hours/week) or internship (20 hours/week) for Fall and/or Spring semesters

Further develop clinical skills in a college counseling center; skills will be applicable to other professional   counseling settings

Responsibilities:

  • individual counseling with traditional age undergraduate students
  • crisis intervention
  • psychoeducational group opportunities
  • consultation to faculty and staff
  • outreach to the college community
  • weekly supervision by a licensed psychologist
  • case consultation/ educational seminars
  • mentorship for a career in college counseling

Prerequisites:

  • BA/BS degree
  • be a  graduate student in an accredited Master’s of Counseling or related discipline
  • have successfully completed the program’s preparatory courses
  • have permission of the program’s clinical coordinator
  • carry professional liability insurance

Preference is given to applicants who submit a completed application by March 31 (for Fall) or October 31 (for spring).  Preference to those who desire both Fall and Spring semesters (can be practicum and half an internship, or two semesters of internship).
