Randolph College, a selective liberal arts college in Lynchburg, Virginia, invites applications for a position funded by the Hilseweck Foundation to enhance the diversity of perspectives at the College. This is a two-year appointment at the assistant professor level beginning July 1, 2012.
We seek a scholar who will offer two courses within her or his expertise each fall semester, and who each spring will join Randolph College’s signature American Culture Program, a bloc of interrelated courses and travel-study, which probes what it means to be an American by exploring broad themes (liberty, democracy, capitalism, race, religion, etc.) in American culture. The program includes visits to historic sites, workplaces, government agencies, churches, and museums both in Virginia and in other parts of the United States. Area of expertise is open, but we encourage applicants with strengths in the related fields of Religious Studies, Cultural Geography, and African American studies.
Qualifications: PhD, well-advanced ABD, or equivalent; evidence of scholarly achievement or promise; and success in teaching undergraduates. Salary to commensurate with credentials and experience.

The successful candidate for the full-time Web Content Developer position will have at least five years of experience and demonstrated success in the conception, development, and production of compelling, sell-oriented web content in the college/university or commercial sector; including text and video for websites and content for social media assets such as Facebook and Twitter. Exemplary writing and editing skills are a must, as is the ability to work with diverse information providers and then communicate intangible benefits to 16- and 17-year-old prospective students and their parents.
