Assistant Professor of Biology

Description:
Randolph College, a selective liberal arts college with historic strengths in the sciences, invites applications for a tenure track position in Molecular biology/Microbiology at the level of Assistant Professor for 2011-12. The position requires a Ph.D. in a biological science and a strong commitment to teaching. Responsibilities include teaching a course in Microbiology (lecture with one laboratory section) and one lecture section of Introductory Biology during the fall semester, and a core course in Genetics and Molecular Biology (lecture with two associated laboratories) in the spring semester. Candidates may also develop and teach courses in their area of specialty. Involvement with student advising and research is expected. Preference will be given to candidates with a broad general biology background.

Description:
The Nursery School at Randolph College has two openings for an afternoon teacher. The successful candidate will be highly organized, have the ability to relate well with children, parents and co-workers, and work well both independently and in a team environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred and classroom experience required. Approximately 5-15 hours/week M-F.

Part-time Registered Nurse

Description:
Randolph College seeks a part-time Registered Nurse to serve our students during the academic year. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, treatment and/or referral of health problems, injuries, and emergencies as well as health education and counseling. Work schedule will be two days a week—Tuesdays and Fridays. Qualifications include: graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing, a BS in nursing or BA in a related field (education) preferred, and advanced training in primary care and health education preferred.

Part-Time Reunion Volunteer Coordinator

Description:
Randolph College seeks a part-time resourceful individual with superior interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills to serve as Reunion Volunteer Coordinator. Position is responsible for working with the Director of Alumnae and Alumni and the Director of Development to build and manage volunteer efforts to meet increased reunion giving, participation, and attendance goals. Qualifications include: AS degree required, BS or BA preferred, must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a supporting team member, must be able to plan and implement multiple projects simultaneously with detail, motivate and train volunteers. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Some night and weekend work may be required.
