Opportunities for Music Students

Music majors can take advantage of many opportunities for performance or research.

The Chorale and Touch of Harmony (a small, auditioned vocal jazz ensemble) are on-campus outlets for singers.

Instrumentalists may participate in our newly formed Chamber Orchestra or work on ensemble projects with faculty.

Randolph also offers individual lessons in voice, piano, and a variety of other instruments, and group voice instruction.

Lynchburg offers many other performing experiences, including those with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and the Jefferson Choral Society.

The Guest Artists series offers another opportunity for music majors to see and interact with professionals in the field.

The senior paper in music provides students with an opportunity to explore bibliography, research techniques, or compositional problems in music theory.

Many Randolph College students participate in summer research projects. In addition, many students participate in internships or study-abroad programs.

Recently students have interned at Chicago Lyric Opera and the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra.
