Music majors can take advantage of many opportunities for performance or research.

The Chorale or Songshine (an informal a cappella singing group) are on-campus outlets for singers. Lynchburg offers many other performing experiences, including those with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and the Jefferson Choral Society.

The senior paper in music provides students with an opportunity to explore bibliography, research techniques, or compositional problems in music theory.

The Visiting Artists series offers another opportunity for music majors to see and interact with professionals in the field.

In addition, many students participate in internships or study-abroad programs. Recently students have interned at Heritage United Methodist Church in Lynchburg and at Junior Achievement.

In addition, many Randolph College students participate in summer research projects.
