Get Experience in Biology
Randolph biology majors may conduct laboratory or field studies culminating in presentation of their senior research projects through talks and poster displays. A few recent examples include:
- Associative learning and the foraging of harvester ants
- The effects of prenatal exposure to avian and mammalian sounds on the auditory imprinting response in chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus)
- Susceptibility of representative intestinal biofilm bacteria to clindamysin
Frequently students participate in internships, summer research projects, or study-abroad programs. Recently, we had interns at:
- Lake Baikal in Russia (studying environmental problems)
- Lake Tahoe in California (studying environmental problems)
- Windhaven Equine Clinic
- Virginia Baptist Hospital
- Framatome Technologies
In addition, many Randolph College biology students participate in summer research projects.
