The Assistant Dean of Students, Director of New Student and Leadership programs coordinates programs and services for first-year students and their parents and families. These programs and services include New Student Orientation, Parent and Family Orientation, one of the first year seminar components - IST103: College Transitions, the Randolph Webfolio, the Susan F. Davenport Global Leadership Program, and First-Year Board activities.
Our goal is to help first-year students adjust to and succeed in college. In order to achieve this goal, we:
provide programs to orient first-year students and parents/families to the Randolph College community and to college life;
coordinate the activities of the First-Year Board, which provides a mechanism for first-year students to become involved at Randolph College, to voice their concerns, and to plan traditional events for the first-year class;
organize events to familiarize first-year students with campus services at Randolph College and with academic enrichment and personal development opportunities; and
provide a means for first-year students to develop meaningful and beneficial relationships with upper-class students and faculty and staff
