In the News: Kakenya Ntaiya Interviewed on NPR

Kakenya Ntaiya ’04 recently appeared on the Morning Edition show on National Public Radio. Ntaiya was interviewed as part of a story on U.S. aid for family planning in Africa.

Now in graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh, Ntaiya was the first woman from her village of Enoosaen, Kenya to attend college.

The Washington Post chronicled her journey to enroll at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in the inspiring series “Kakenya’s Promise“.

She is opening a school for girls in Enoosaen, the Kakenya Center for Excellence.
