Randolph College announced this week the permanent appointment of two members of its Office of Institutional Advancement. Farah Marks, a longtime staff member, was named the vice president for institutional advancement, and Marianne Ramsey was appointed director for principal and planned giving. Both began serving in these roles on an interim basis in April.

“Both Farah and Marianne have provided skill and expertise to the College during their time here, and I believe they will continue to enhance and grow our development efforts,” said Bradley W. Bateman, president of Randolph College.

Marks graduated from Mary Washington College with a Bachelor of Science in business administration. She has been at the College for three decades, serving in multiple capacities, including assistant director of operations for admissions, stewardship coordinator, assistant director of donor relations, director of advancement services, and director of development.

Marks is extremely active in the community and has been a member of numerous boards and organizations, including the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and Youth Orchestra, Endstation Theatre Company, the President’s Council of Hampden-Sydney College, and president of the board for Forte Chamber Music.

Ramsey also knows the Lynchburg community well. After graduating from E.C. Glass High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ramsey has a resume rich with experience in the nonprofit sector. Before coming to Randolph as a major gifts officer in 2014, she served as director of development for New Vistas School, as the executive director of the Historic Virginia Chapter of the American Red Cross, and a major gift officer at Sweet Briar College, as well as the business manager for the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and special projects coordinator for the Virginia Legal Aid Society.
