Top Story #6: Randolph receives high marks in national rankings

Several publications announced new national rankings with Randolph, driving home the College’s place as one of the best liberal arts colleges in the nation. Here are a few highlights:

Most recently, Cappex named Randolph one of the best colleges for student activities.

The Princeton Review included Randolph College in its 2015 edition of The Best 379 Colleges, and also ranked Randolph as one of the top 20 colleges in the nation on three of the book’s national rankings lists: “Professors Get High Marks,” “Best College Theater,” and “Lots of Race/Class Interaction.” Read more about these rankings here.

Randolph rose in the U.S. News rankings for national liberal arts colleges in the 2015 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges.

Randolph also was honored with two designations for its commitment to environmental sustainability. The Princeton Review designated Randolph a “Green College” in its downloadable book, The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges. And the Sierra Club named Randolph one of 173 “Cool Schools.” The list evaluates and ranks colleges based on sustainability initiatives in academics, food, energy use, food services, and other factors. Only five Virginia colleges made the list.

The 2015 Fiske Guide to Colleges also named Randolph one of the nation’s “best and most interesting” institutions.
