Lindsay Cross Earns All-American Honors

Montclair, NJ — Randolph College Softball standout Lindsay Cross added yet another honor to her growing list Thursday when she was named to the NCAA Division III Softball All-American Team. The junior earned third team honors and will be honored at the NCAA Championship Banquet Thursday night.

It marks the first time in softball program history that a Randolph player was named to All-American status. Cross led the WildCats with a blistering .491 batting average and .755 slugging percentage from her first base position during the 2009 season. She ranked in the top 50 nationally among Division III players in three different offensive categories. She ranked 19th in batting average and 49th in slugging percentage in the NCAA Division III rankings. Her .538 on-base percentage was good for 31st in the nation as well. The Asheboro, NC native also broke Randolph school records for home runs, doubles and hits in 2009.
