Randolph One of 30 Colleges Honored by CASE

LYNCHBURG, VA – Randolph College was one of 30 higher education institutions – and the only in Virginia – awarded the 2007 CASE-WealthEngine Award for Educational Fundraising in May for overall performance. More than 480 institutions were considered.

Randolph College was named to the Circle of Excellence for overall performance in fundraising in recognition of exemplary fundraising efforts between 2003-2006.

The CASE-WealthEngine Awards for Educational Fundraising program honors superior fundraising programs and exemplary development operations at CASE-member institutions. This annual program awards institutions for overall performance and improvement in fundraising over a three-year period.

Other private liberal arts institutions receiving the honor included: Carleton College, Colgate University, College of the Holy Cross, DePauw University, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Vassar College, and Williams College.

Institutions do not apply for the program. Instead, the awards are data-driven. Institutions become eligible for consideration for the award upon submission of data to the Council for Aid to Education’s Voluntary Support of Education (VSE) survey for three or more consecutive years. This year, 1,010 higher education institutions were eligible for consideration based on their participation record with the VSE. An independent data analyst narrowed the field to 482 institutions.

“We were pleased to be recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education for the CASE-Wealth Engine Award, and we feel it is an honor to be one of the private liberal arts institutions chosen based on the criteria for selection,” said Skip Kughn, vice president of Institutional Advancement for the College. “The short list of other private liberal arts colleges selected is very impressive, and we are honored to share the recognition with these institutions.”
