Assistant Professor of Political Science

The Political Science Department at Randolph College invites applications for a full time, tenure track assistant professor of political science with a primary focus in international relations and a secondary focus in a subfield other than American politics or public law. The position currently carries a 3-3 teaching load and includes responsibility for the college’s Model UN course and program. Date of employment is July 1, 2019; report date is in mid-August.

The hired candidate will be expected to teach a range of introductory through advanced undergraduate courses in international relations as well as a course in research methods. The ideal candidate would also be able to offer specialized courses in security studies and/or focusing on a region other than East Asia.

Located in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg, Virginia, Randolph College, founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, is a traditional small liberal arts college with a longstanding reputation for excellence in teaching and an appreciation for and commitment to diversity. The successful applicant must be committed to excellent undergraduate teaching in the liberal arts tradition and hold a PhD at the time of appointment or be ABD with an impending date of defense.
